Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanic for assignment in Quincy, Washington. The selected candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining basic machinery and mechanical components in a water treatment facility.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

- Assists Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and directing the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of specialized mechanical and electrical equipment, buildings, structures and grounds

- Assists Project Manager in budgeting and estimating cost and time for all aspects of repairs or replacements

- Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications and mechanical illustrations

- Performs skilled mechanical repair work on water/wastewater treatment plant equipment and related equipment

- Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrences

- Assists Project Manager in recordkeeping and prepares routine and special reports

- Communicates effectively orally and in writing at all levels regarding recommended maintenance and repair procedures

- Provides on-the-job training to less experienced employees

- Acts for Project Manager in his/her absence

- Lubricates equipment and checks for malfunctions

- Replaces bearings, packing, seals, shafts, sleeves, seats or other components found in treatment plant equipment

- Uses special tools such as: bearing pullers, torch, welding machine, hoist or other equipment used in the repair of treatment plant equipment

- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

- A valid Drivers License

- 5+ years experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment

- Forklift or Heavy equipment experience is a plus
