Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for a hybrid, contract-to-direct assignment in Portland, Oregon. The selected candidate will be part of a fast-paced team focused on designing Advanced Facilities such as semiconductor manufacturing plants, data centers, and similar state of the art manufacturing facilities. 

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

 

** This position can work a hybrid schedule in Portland **

** An Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) is required **

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and collaborate with project team members, contractors, clients and other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical and process to develop designs

- Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs such as STAAD or RAM for the design of buildings, building foundations, equipment foundations, masonry structures, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures

- Prepare structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials; primarily steel, concrete, and masonry

- Exercise judgment required in developing plans or alternatives and work with mentors to assure quality plans

- Perform field/site visits such as observation of construction activities

- Review construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents

- Provide review of design drawings for conformance to design

- Understanding of structural design provisions in the codes is important

- Provide redlines to design team on a project-by-project basis

- Address client and contractor RFI’s

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering

- An Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT)

- 2+ years of experience in Structural Engineering

- Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC

- Experience with STAAD, RAM, Etabs, RISA and/or SAP2000 is highly preferred
