We are seeking a Site Remediation Geotechnical Engineer for a contract-to-direct assignment out of Reston, Virginia. The selected candidate will work on exciting projects nationwide, participating in a variety of office and field tasks related to planning, evaluating, designing and implementing the geotechnical aspects of environmental remedies.

Hours are  Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

** This position requires an Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) **

** Candidates must have experience with remediation design around contaminated sites as it relates to soil (dry) and sediment (wetlands/underwater) **

** This position can be located anywhere in the USA, but will require periodic travel to project sites for environmental remediation **

- Evaluate site conditions to design a remediation plan for a dam or bridge over a contaminated site

- Determine geotechnical design data needs

- Assess remedial alternatives

- Perform engineering calculations

- Develop designs

- Use your technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports and design documents, including design specifications

- Spend up to 25% to 50% of your time in the field supporting or overseeing the gathering of geotechnical and other design data

- Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering or Geological Engineering

- An Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT)

- 3+ years experience in Environmental Remediation and Geotechnical Design based around contaminated sites as it relates to soil (dry) and sediment (wetlands/underwater)

- Experience writing specifications, preparing basis of design reports and developing design drawings with drafting team members

- A 40-hr HAZWOPER Certification or the ability to obtain
