Overview

We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator for a contract-to-direct assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

 

** This position has an on-call schedule, which may include weekends and holidays **

** This position requires a New Mexico Water Operator Certification (An Operator-in-Training will also be considered) **

Responsibilities

- Operates, maintains, and performs minor repairs on water treatment and/or distribution system

- Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRV’s and water meters

- Reads and monitors gauges, meters, and control panels

- Starts and stops equipment, and operates valves to route and control flow

- Learns and gains skills involving the maintenance of equipment and servicing work in the plant

- Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water treatment and distribution system

- Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels

- Observes and reports abnormalities to supervisor

- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings

- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses

- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties

- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner

- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- 1+ years’ experience in operating water / wastewater treatment plants

- A valid New Mexico Water Operator Certification (An Operator-in-Training will also be considered)
