Opportunity Snapshot:

• Compensation: $150-155K/year
• Location: Deer Park, TX
• Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+
• Assignment Duration: Direct hire

• Develop, track and report key performance indicators for the plant and other performance metrics for area of responsibility, identify and implement improvement opportunities
• Track production metrics and remove bottlenecks to achieve schedule compliance
• Refine or identify opportunities for optimizing process controls
• Participate in plant shutdown/turnaround planning and execution
• Assist in the evaluation of any new products and or processes
• Track process yields, establish targets/goals. Recommend and show improvement in yields in Glycine
• Learn plant processes and become technical expert both internally and externally. Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis of any off spec production or process issues
• Modify (or develop new) procedures as required in accordance with plant policies for any such changes (MOC, etc.)
• Train and mentor plant operations personnel on proper process techniques and changes to ensure continuity from day to day
• Assist with loss prevention reviews and recommend/incorporate safety controls on new or modified processes
• Other duties or special projects may be assigned

• 5 to 10+ years of experience as a production engineer in a chemical plant

• A BS or higher in Chemical Engineering

• Experience with Process Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Reviews

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Working knowledge of office productivity software, including spreadsheets and word processing

• Experience with standard operating procedures

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, PSM/RMP

• 6 sigma green belt certification preferred

• High-level knowledge of process control software systems.
