We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventative and corrective maintenance of a water treatment plant, and related facility equipment, on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

** This position has a pay rate of $19.26/hr **

- Performs and assists in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment

- Performs or assists in the replacement of bearings in motors, pumps or other equipment

- Tightens and adjusts chains

- Removes and installs new or existing equipment or machinery

- Operates hoists, lifts and machinery

- Chips and paints

- Operates emergency power generation equipment

- Performs plumbing and pipefitting tasks as required

- Assists in keeping maintenance records

- Maintains and operates computer maintenance management system as required

- Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management

- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner

- Performs other duties as required

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- Familiarity with hand and power tools
