Overview

We are seeking a Boiler / Chiller Plant Operator for assignment in Denver, Colorado. The selected candidate will perform the proper, efficient and safe operation, (as well as minor tests, repairs, and maintenance) of all plant equipment under his/her control in accordance with plant procedures and directions.  

 

Hours are Friday - Monday, 10:00am - 8:30pm

 

** This is a 2nd Shift position **

** This position requires an EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification **

Responsibilities

- Utility plant maintenance including work on chilled water systems and equipment

- Rigging and lifting

- Pump and motor repair and replacement

- Belt and gear driven cooling tower and fan repair 

- Heat exchanger maintenance experience including: cleaning plate heat exchanger and shell and tube heat exchangers

- Repair and maintenance for system components including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, piping, fans, compressors and motors

- Must have experience working with and managing industrial refrigeration and a working knowledge of electricity and controls

- Troubleshooting plant equipment

- Diagnose chiller and chilled water auxiliary equipment

- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure the integrity and reliability of the chilled water distribution system

- Prepare and makes entries in the daily plant log and maintains complete record keeping procedures for supervisory review

- Utilize the CMMS system to assure maximum effectiveness; provides required and appropriate documentation

- Make maintenance decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel

- Inform supervisor of needs and/or changes required to keep equipment in a safe and well-maintained condition

- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Driver’s License

- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification is required

- 2+ years experience in any of the following: Utility System Mechanic, Stationary Engineer or Refrigeration Mechanic

- Trane, McQuay or Frick chiller maintenance experience is highly preferred

- Experience operating and repair of BAC cooling towers and BAC evaporative condensers is highly preferred
