Overview

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for direct hire in Cary, North Carolina. The selected candidate will mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members while also working closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm

 

** This is a Direct Hire position **

** This position can work a Hybrid schedule in Cary, NC (typically ~ 2 days/wk) **

** This position requires a Professional Engineer License (any state) **

** This position may require travel (typically ~ 10%) **

Responsibilities

- Lead a Mechanical Engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors

- Engage with clients, evaluating their energy needs, and develop concept-level plans and solutions; then take these through detailed design to provide for full execution 

- Collaborate with our client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm

- Anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery

- Strategy formation, business development and sales

Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

- 10+ years experience in engineering design or consulting

- A Professional Engineer License (any state)

- Experience with heat pump / heat recovery chillers

- Prior experience with personnel management

- US Citizen

- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization / climate response planning, cogeneration or combined heat and power systems and/or thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) is a plus
