We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will learn and gain skills involved the maintenance of equipment and servicing work of a water treatment plant.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

** This position has an on-call schedule **

- Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, trailer mounted hydro excavator, ditch witch, dump truck, etc.)

- Operate and maintain vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products

- Digs and refills ditches and trenches

- Hooking up and towing equipment

- Locate and mark underground water, wastewater and reclaimed water services by utilizing provided diagrams, maps and tools (Vision view, Collector, etc.)

- Clean vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationery and portable equipment

- Perform routine inspection of vehicles and equipment

- Perform minor preventive maintenance

- Maintain applicable records

- Follow all project SOPs, policies and procedures relating to Computerized Maintenance management systems (CMMS)

- Inventory control management including checking out and returning inventory

- Ability to work on-call shifts and respond to call-ins in a timely manner

- Maintain grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings

- Performs other duties as required

- A valid Drivers License

- 5+ years experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe, front loader, excavator, etc.)

- Knowledge of underground water utility systems
