Opportunity Snapshot:

• Compensation: $49/hour, DOE
• Location: Carlsbad, NM
• Work Schedule: 4/3, 10+ hours per day
• Assignment Duration: 12 months+

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment
• Troubleshoot, install, configure, and test equipment/devices, as well as set up controllers, devices, and communication protocols with minimal assistance
• Install, program, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment
• Maintain and repair automation and electrical systems for upstream onshore oil and gas operations
• Provide on-site automation support and serve as a technical resource for control systems and field instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, vibration, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with industry and corporate process control standards
• Follow PLC programming practices, standards, and Management of Change (MOC) procedures
• Identify and implement improvements for instrumentation and control systems
• Utilize CMMS (SAP) for maintenance operations

• 2-year Instrumentation or Automation Technology degree (GPA 2.5+) or equivalent technical experience with a strong safety record or a GED

• 5+ years in the oil field

• 1+ year of upstream oil and gas automation experience

• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Rosemount systems

• Ability to read and interpret Cause & Effects, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives

• Basic troubleshooting of control networks (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, fiber optics, RF communications)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate across teams and build trust

• Active listening and problem-solving mindset to drive performance and results
