We are seeking a Wastewater Utility Worker for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
** This position requires a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License w/ Tanker Endorsement (CDL) **
** This position has an on-call schedule **
- Performs routine serving and corrective maintenance of wastewater collection systems
- Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and portable equipment
- Performs routine inspections of vehicles and equipment; performs minor maintenance and lubrication of machinery such as changing oil and greasing equipment
- Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools that are required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products (i.e., sludge, product waste, packaging waste, etc.)
- Digs and refills ditches and trenches
- Carries or holds materials, supplies and tools to assist collections personnel
- Maintains grounds, buildings and lift stations; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass, leaves and trash
- Completion of work orders using Maintenance Connections, daily
- Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
- Monitors gauges, meters and control panels
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins, in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as required
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License w/ Tanker Endorsement (CDL)
- Experience operating a vactor truck is highly preferred
- Knowledge in the operations and maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment, farm machinery and pumps is highly preferred
