We are seeking an Bindery Operator for assignment in Torrance, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating bindery equipment such as saddle stitchers, Stahl folder, Polar cutter, Horizon and Rosback collator / stitcher, paper drill, shrink-wrap equipment and perfect binder.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

** This posiiton has a pay rate of $23.86/hr **

- Independently review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs

- Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper operation for each job

- Quality control of completed jobs, providing updates on job status and schedule to the supervisor

- Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and timely flow of materials

- Monitor machine during operation to maintain accuracy, safety and efficiency

- Unload machine and stack materials on pallets

- Perform quality control checks, ensuring products meet required specifications

- Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Supervisor

- Maintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication

- Remove waste items for recycling

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bindery area

- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

- Ensure all equipment, tools and workstations are in good working condition and free of safety hazards

- Maintain accurate inventory records

- Perform other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED

- 2+ Years of relevant work experience in a bindery setting

- Competency in folding, scoring, perfect binding, saddle stitching, die-cutting and packing/fulfilment

- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and technical specifications

- Ensure production requests/changes and technical specifications are met and delivered on time

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities

- Forklift experience is highly preferred
