We are seeking a Commercial Painter for assignment in Torrance, California. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in commercial painting, surface preparation and cleaning.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00pm - 2:30am

** This is a Night Shift position **

** This position has a pay rate of $26 - $28/hr **

- Execute commercial painting projects, ensuring high-quality finishes

- Paint the interior and occasional exterior of buildings and other facilities on campus

- Use brush and roller, airless, HVLP and a variety of paint products

- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.

- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, applying primers, etc.

- Operating, maintaining and cleaning all equipment

- Utilize color theory to mix paints and achieve desired aesthetics

- Strong understanding of color theory and its application

- Pre-painting preparation including supply estimation, scraping, patching, sanding and clean up

- Perform routine maintenance around campus such as repairing windows, doors or walls, water fixtures, toilets and urinals or hanging Pictures, tv’s and posters when needed

- Maintaining the building equipment to keep the facility functioning properly

- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof

- Concrete and Asphalt patching

- Assist in other General technician duties as needed

- A valid Drivers License

- 2+ years experience in commercial painting, surface preparation and cleaning

- Proficiency in spraying, brush, and roll techniques

- Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them

- Experience with drywall installation and repair is a plus
