Opportunity Snapshot:
Support the Quality Department in overseeing maintenance activities at our Client Facility. This role focuses on the quality and reliability of critical rotating equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance work
Conduct inspections and quality checks on critical rotating equipment, including pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, and gearboxes. Validate repair work against engineering and OEM specifications
Review rotating equipment job plans and quality documentation to ensure all QA/QC requirements are accounted for before field execution. Validate vendor documentation and equipment condition reports
Provide QA support during teardown and rebuilds, both on-site and occasionally at vendor facilities. Verify fit-ups, tolerances, assembly techniques, torque specs, and use of OEM procedures
Ensure accurate recording of equipment condition during disassembly and reassembly. Confirm alignment with internal documentation standards and field observations
Monitor field execution for compliance with approved procedures, quality standards, and best practices. Support the creation, review, and revision of procedures specific to rotating equipment QA
Identify, document, and support resolution of workmanship issues or deviations from standards. Raise punch items or NCRs as appropriate
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, and Reliability teams to ensure quality across the rotating equipment lifecycle. Serve as a technical liaison for QA support in the field
Provide input for process enhancements and lessons learned related to rotating equipment quality and maintenance execution
In-depth understanding of rotating equipment tolerances, fits, seal installations, OEM repair procedures, and alignment techniques. Familiar with ASME, API, and site-specific specifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam. Experience with work package or QA tracking systems is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear documentation and effective coordination across departments
Able to work in outdoor industrial environments and support activities in active units. Occasional travel to vendor facilities may be required
NCCER Plus Industrial Millwright or equivalent trade certification required
Preferred/Value-Add: API 686 (Recommended Practices for Machinery Installation and Installation Design), ISO 18436 (Vibration Analyst Certification Level I or II), Precision Maintenance Training (e.g., balancing, laser alignment, torque certification), QA/QC or inspection-related certification (e.g., Level II VT, CWI if applicable)
