Overview

We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Bixby, Oklahoma. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing and other day-to-day activities on an assigned shift. 

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

 

** This position has a pay rate of $25/hr **

** This position requires a valid Class C Wastewater Operator Certification **

Responsibilities

- Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge and effluent

- Reports operating problems to lead operator or supervisor and performs directed corrective action during assigned shift

- Monitors gauges, meters and control panels

- Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine process adjustment requirements

- Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control

- Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes

- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings

- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses

- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties

- This position required to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies and must live within 30 minutes of the facility to meet contractual response obligations

- Travel between work locations is required

- Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- A valid Class C Wastewater Operator Certification

- 1+ years experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants

- Ability to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems
