Opportunity Snapshot:

• Compensation: $64/hour
• Location: Kermit, TX
• Assignment Duration: 12 months+
• Work Schedule: 7/7 Rotation

• Install, program, calibrate, and maintain automation and electrical equipment
• Diagnose and resolve issues in control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation
• Support field operations with technical expertise on RTUs, sensors, and networked equipment
• Comply with industry codes and Oxy’s Process Control and MOC standards
• Use SAP or other CMMS tools to track and document maintenance activities
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to automation-related field issues
• Travel to various field locations and work in elevated or confined areas when needed

• 3+ years as an Automation Technician or Integrator
• 3+ years in oil and gas field operations
• 7+ years in the oil field, including 3+ years in upstream automation
• Experience with voltages up to 480V
• Strong troubleshooting skills with RTUs, PLCs (ladder logic, structured text), and HMIs
• Familiar with analog/discrete I/O, AC/DC circuits, and industrial network protocols (Ethernet, serial)
• Working knowledge of codes such as API, NEC, NFPA, ISA, and IEEE
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows OS
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Rosemount systems, and industrial networks (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, RF communications)
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and Cause & Effect matrices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Education: HS Degree or a GED
