We are seeking a Wastewater Technician-in-Training for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform inspection, cleaning, maintenance and repair of wastewater collections systems; including sewer lines, manholes, lift stations and related infrastructure.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
- Performs routine service and corrective maintenance of wastewater collection systems
- Inspect, clean and maintain sewer mains, laterals, manhole and lift stations
- Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and portable equipment
- Performs routine inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Performs minor maintenance and lubrication of machinery, such as oil changes and greasing equipment
- Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools that are required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products (i.e., sludge, product waste, packaging waste, etc.)
- Assist with materials, supplies, and tools to assist collections personnel
- Maintains grounds, buildings and lift stations; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass, leaves and trash
- Complete work orders as requested (i.e., Maintenance Connection, field maps, vision view)
- Monitors and records meter, control panels and gauge readings
- Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow
- Ability to carry and respond to work orders as requested by management
- Ability to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner (i.e. after hours, business hours and holidays)
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
