Opportunity Snapshot:

  • Compensation: $85-90.00/hour DOE
  • Location: Quintana, TX
  • Assignment Duration: 12 months+
  • Work Schedule: M-F or 9/80

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and champion the company's and project's safety programs, regulations, and procedures on the construction site. Conduct daily safety inspections, lead safety meetings, and report on safety incidents or near-misses
  • Manage and direct the total construction effort to ensure projects are built according to design, budget, and schedule. This includes supervising internal craft employees and subcontractors, tracking progress, and resolving on-site issues
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to safety requirements, quality standards, and project timelines
  • Participate in bid reviews and negotiations for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Implement and enforce a project-specific quality control program, conducting audits and checks to ensure all work meets design specifications and client requirements
  • Plan and supervise on-site logistics, including material delivery, equipment use, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site matters, effectively communicating with client representatives, engineering teams, project managers, and regulatory officials
  • Develop, implement, and manage cost controls, including the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for major projects. Track expenditures against budgets, generate cash flow forecasts, and review cost estimates
  • Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project schedules using tools like Primavera P6. Facilitate interactive planning sessions to align cross-functional stakeholders on critical path activities and major milestones
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Analyze Earned Value Management (EVM) data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project performance. Produce accurate and timely reports and dashboards for project teams and executive management
  • Lead and administer the change control process to evaluate and track the impact of scope, schedule, and budget changes
  • Coordinate the risk management process, including facilitating risk workshops, assessing potential impacts to cost and schedule, and developing mitigation plans
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project, maintenance, or turnaround execution
  • 5+ years of experience working in an industrial hydrocarbon processing environment
  • Knowledge of construction management practices, in particular that assurance of field safety and quality.  Ability to comprehend construction specifications, standards, and contracts
  • The ability to work with multiple projects
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management and supervision skills.  Thorough knowledge of industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in the mechanical engineering discipline and other engineering disciplines as required
  • Good analytical problem solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
  • Perform research that leads to improved process safety and reliability.  Ability to troubleshoot and optimize process related problems

  • Must be able to attain / hold a current TWIC
