Opportunity Snapshot:

  • Compensation: $26.50/hour
  • Location: Port Fourchon, LA
  • Work Schedule: 7/7 Rotation - 12 hours per day
  • Assignment Duration:  12 months+

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the Logistics Coordinator for general duties
  • Responsible for monitoring work done at the base to ensure it is done in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all material movements to and from the base
  • Responsible for generating a S & R relief sheet for crew change at the end of each 12 hr. shift to pass on information on current operations and any outstanding items
  • Prepare all cargo manifests and DCM’s for material shipped offshore.  Prepare all Bills of Lading for material shipped via truck
  • Ensure Yard Foreman has initialed and checked off material being delivered to the base and then receipt for (sign) all material delivery paperwork.  Ensure Yard Foreman has signed, dated and initialed inbound and outbound cargo manifests for material unloading from vessels.  Ensure Yard Foreman has initialed delivery paperwork for deliveries from vendors to the base.  Ensure Yard Foreman has initialed Bills of Lading for material picking up from the base
  • Responsible for making a final walk with Yard Foreman on each vessel loaded and reconciling to cargo manifest
  • Make calls to vendors to get material picked up or to verify shipping address and acceptable delivery times
  • Maintain accurate record of crane lifts, pipe footage and chemical products moved
  • Prepare all UIC 28’s and other paperwork as required
  • Setup trucks for deliveries to and from the base as required
  • Responsible for communicating with Logistics Coordinator for large lots of equipment being delivered to schedule timing for truck deliveries to match load out time setup by Coordinator.  Responsible for communicating with Logistics Coordinator for large lots of equipment being unloaded from vessels to schedule timing for truck pickups to match unload timing setup by Coordinator
  • Setup all UPS, FedEx, Saia shipments and maintain accurate records
  • Work with Yard Foreman to resolve problems or discrepancies on material being received off trucks or vessels
  • Communicate with offshore or vendors via phone or e-mail to resolve issues after checking with Logistics Coordinator
  • Responsible for directing Yard Foreman
  • Responsible for making sure Yard Foreman has completed weekly inventory of material on BOL’s in yard awaiting shipment back to vendors and reconciling this to the BOL’s currently on hand and the cargo manifests on hold and clearing all discrepancies
  • Responsible for turning in weekly inventory of shorebase supplies to Logistics Coordinator
  • Responsible for keeping Logistics Coordinator informed of problems with deliveries, problems with cargo received on vessels and any discrepancies or problems effecting operations
  • Responsible for checking in vendors and making sure they sign in and out.  Responsible for checking ID of personnel boarding vessels and making sure all personnel are on personnel roster before they proceed to the vessel and inform Logistics Coordinator of any discrepancies
  • Responsible for reading and retaining e-mails with instructions from Shore Base Foreman, Team Leaders, Logistics Coordinators and directions from offshore on material needed on load outs
  • Responsible for researching files as requested by Logistics Coordinators
  • Required to participate in daily walkthrough of yard on both day and night crew with Yard Foremen

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Previous shipping/receiving experience required
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills required
  • Ability to maintain accurate records while multitasking
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office suite
  • High School diploma or GED required
