We are seeking a Wastewater Mechanic for assignment in Gilroy, California. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance, repair of equipment, instruments, processes and support systems of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, adjustments) and skilled repairs on equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, screens and tanks
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems in equipment and systems
- Implement and manage a preventative maintenance program to prevent breakdowns including inspection, calibration and part replacement
- Monitor equipment performance, check system diagnostics and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment history and inventory
- Ensure the facility operates within regulatory standards
- May involve fabricating and modifying parts, and using tools like welding equipment
- A valid Drivers License
- 2+ years experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment (pumps, motors, valves, hydraulics, VFD's, PLC's, etc.)
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and identify root cause of issues
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Knowledge of welding is highly preferred
