Overview

We are seeking a Warehouse Technician for assignment in San Jose, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for daily activities in the delivery and pickup of virgin and waste chemical containers for our client’s company.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities

 

- Delivery and pickup of chemicals including boxes, cans, drums, cylinders, and perform refilling of Liquid Nitrogen Dewar’s

- Daily task will involve proper use of pallet jacks, carts, dollies, forklifts, and delivery trucks

- Ensure daily safety checks are performed for delivery trucks before daily use

- Report all deficiencies found to Supervisor

- Maintain chemical hazard class separation of all chemicals and gasses while in transport

- Use barcode delivery/pickup logs to track deliveries and pick ups by work order, department and building code

- Ensure proper scanning, labeling and recording of materials delivered, received, and picked up

- Work activities include scheduling of chemical deliveries and chemical waste pickup; All work orders are to be completed and signed off within 24 hours and returned for closure

- Review hazardous waste tags for completeness and correct all discrepancies found prior to pickup; Issue waste refusal tags as required

- Maintain all CDC handling equipment as required to ensure equipment is in proper working order and safe for use

- Ensure all waste containers are properly sorted to include storing by hazardous class, correctly labeled, sealed and marked

- Maintain CDC warehouse and delivery trucks in an audit ready condition at all times

- Work task will require interface with Client and/or Contractors for all chemical and container issues

- Ensures adherence to all company and client contractor EHS requirements at all times

- Responds in a professional and timely manner to management and internal customer inquiries and work orders relating to CDC activities

- Ensure high level of customer satisfaction at all times

- Work as a team player

- Show willingness to help and support peers in areas outside of normal duties

- Member of site emergency response team including hazardous material and hazardous waste spill response

- Enter Permit required

- Confined Spaces for job tasks

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid California Driver’s License

- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training
