We are seeking a Tool Install Structural Engineer for assignment in Hillsboro, Oregon. The selected candidate will perform a variety of engineering work for a state of the art semiconductor manufacturer’s Tool Install program.


Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm


- Work in a leadership role as part of a team of Structural Engineers and Structural Designers in the development of design packages to support the Tool Install program

- Interact directly with the client, other disciplines, and contractors in all phases of design;  construction-phase services are limited to RFI responses

- Coordinate with, and provide guidance to, third-party engineers for dynamic analysis of vibration-sensitive tools

- Be part of a team in an environment with tight deadlines and a demanding client

- Highly proficient in and committed to checking own work

- Able to perform Calculation Checking of other's work

- Takes complete ownership of their portion of the structural scope, reliably meeting schedule, budget, and quality requirements

- May be given tasks with ill-defined conditions of satisfaction, in which case the individual will be expected to take the initiative to determine what is needed to meet the project and client needs

- Clearly define own scope and be able to forecast level of effort needed to complete that scope. Be ready to identify scope change and escalate it to Structural Lead or Project Manager

- Ask for help when needed, and delegate to other engineers when appropriate

- Possesses excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Provides technical guidance and/or mentorship to less experienced engineers

- Proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline. Embraces emerging technologies

- Develop and manage schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for the structural scope

- Attends project meetings and takes an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines

- May be asked to act as the stamping Engineer of Record

- Take responsibility for all aspects of the deliverables, including calculations and all construction documents

- Participates in and champions internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews


- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering

- Professional Engineer License (PE), or the ability to obtain one within 60 days

- 6 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering

- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures

- Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC


- Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred

- Semi-conductor / Tool Install experience is preferred
