We are seeking an HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer for assignment in Cincinnati, Ohio. The selected candidate will lead design teams responsible for the design and layout of HVAC and Utility systems for various types of industrial clients including: general manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer products and pharmaceutical facilities with a strong emphasis on consumer product facilities.


Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm


- HVAC systems would include: general comfort heating and cooling, those with accurate temperature or humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and/or cleanliness requirements for clean rooms or cGMP applications

- Some of the Utility systems would include: Steam/Condensate, Chilled Water, Condenser Water, Heating Hot Water, Compressed Air, and Purified Water

- Development of the design criteria which would define the requirements that the systems would be required to deliver

- Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of HVAC Airflow Diagrams and Utility Systems Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), and equipment general arrangement drawings

- Development of final design documents including specification, Sequences of Operation, as well as the HVAC ductwork layout and final construction documents

- Thorough knowledge of codes and cGMPs related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems

- Assist in the mentoring and development of junior personnel

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to lead design team and collaborate with other team members

- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines

- Must be able to manage projects on their own and execute tasks within budget, scope, and schedule

- Strong client management skills and have the ability to closely coordinate and communicate with clients to develop and review the project design criteria and progress of design deliverables

- Ability to recognize and purse new business opportunities

- Work with the client Business Development Team in the pursuit of new business opportunities          


- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in the design of Industrial HVAC and Utility systems

- Thorough knowledge of codes and cGMPs related to design of industrial facilities and systems

- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
