Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager, with a strong background in Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering for a leading full-service EPC company based in Houston, TX.  Successful candidates must possess a strong I&E background in downstream refinery and/or petro-chemical projects.  Position is an immediate need. 

Responsibilities

Selected candidate will report to, and work with a small capital project team.  Main responsibilities will include:

 

- Will manage multiple small I&E projects with an emphasis on DCS / Controls Systems work

- Leading the overall project scope, execution strategy, and cost estimate for funds request
- Executing project while meeting safety, cost, and schedule goals
- Leading preparation of the funding documents for the project working with the Project Team, Site Area Personnel, and Finance Group
- Assembling a team of qualified personnel of various disciplines to execute the project
- Leading decision on contracting strategy and selection of contractor(s)
- Providing services and support for pre-startup and commissioning activities
- Closing out reporting and all documentation required for the project
- Setting up cost control and manage cost, schedule, and scope within  corporate guidelines
- Performing Engineering review as required
- Acting as role model for other less experienced engineers and mentor/coach  as appropriate
- Preparing progress reports as needed

 

Qualifications

Selected candidate must have:

 

- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, or other related Engineering field

- Downstream / Refinery experience is required

- Experience range should be 10-20 years

- Person needs to already have a TWIC

- Person needs to be self-starting, dynamic, listen to instruction, be able to organize material and present in meetings, be able to write well and give instructions to contractors and gain the confidence of his supervisor to work almost autonomously

- Personality and ability to work with others and get things done is more important than years of experience
