Overview

We are seeking a Structural Designer for assignment in Portland, Oregon. The selected candidate will support structural design services in the electronics industrial field through Revit modeling and CAD design.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities

- Design Advanced Facilities such as semiconductor manufacturing plants, data centers, and similar state of the art structures

- Work with other designers and engineers of our multi-discipline team, you’ll convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3D Revit models

- You will work closely with clients and construction trade partners as you develop design concepts, create models from scratch, and coordinate designs to consider existing conditions and other disciplines

- You will be expected to: 1) be highly proficient in 3D modeling using Revit; 2) create conceptual structural models based on verbal direction or rough sketches; 3) coordinate work with related disciplines to resolve problems and avoid clashes; 4) focus on quality, ensuring conformance with established structural standards, project standards, and project delivery processes; and 5) perform field walks, which may include climbing ladders and walking/standing for extended periods of time

 

- Additionally, this position may require you to serve as a Lead Structural Designer for a small project. In this capacity, you will be further expected to:  1) provide leadership for a small team of designers, establishing project standards and procedures, training and developing your team, and building and maintaining team morale; 2) coordinate the work of the designer team, assigning work, balancing workloads, monitoring progress towards deadlines, and ensuring quality standards are met; 3) coordinate work executed out of remote offices; 4) take responsibility for internal, cross-discipline, and external project reviews; and 5) attend project meetings and take an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines

 

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- 5 to 10 years drafting/design experience in the structural field

- 1 year recent Revit Structure and/or SmartPlant experience

- 3 years AutoCAD experience

- Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures

- Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam is a plus
