Overview

We are currently looking for a Project Lead for a prominent international Operator in Anchorage, Alaska. Our client is the 4th largest exploration and production company worldwide, with operations in more than 300 countries and assets of $160 billion.

Responsibilities

The Project Lead will be responsible for the following:

 

- Following the Small Project Management System to deliver projects
- Building working project teams that are focused on delivering projects
- Assembling estimates for funding purposes
- Proactively assessing project needs, with a focus on a 2-3 month look ahead
- Ensuring cost and scheduling information is updated and accurate for each project
- Interfacing with Discipline and Facility Engineers (as needed) to progress designs
- Resolving problems and mitigating project risk
- Managing the procurement process with a focus on Long Lead Material, Fabrication, and Contracting
- Resolving scope issues with project stakeholders, as appropriate
- Developing a Project Execution Plan (PEP) for each project
- Identifying resources and contracting strategy, required to develop the project plan
- Developing a high level milestone schedule and overall budget for both upcoming phase and total project
- Planing and managing the execution of final engineering and design phases to ensure scope control and product quality
- Planning and managing the fabrication activities to build and install the required facilities
- Tracking and managing the project cost and schedule included in the plan

- Analyzing the actual performance against the plan and making adjustments consistent with plan objectives
- Communicating to the team, management, partners, suppliers, and customers, keeping all stakeholders informed of decisions (management and technical), progress, and issues
- Communicating the project budget, schedule, and key milestones to the extended project team to enable team members to provide technical input and assistance at appropriate times without rework or inefficiencies (Discipline Engineering, Operations, etc.)

Qualifications

- 5-10 years of experience as a Project Engineer/Manager over Arctic Alaska projects
- PMP is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and technical staff
- Demonstrate high levels of initiative and self-motivation, including the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Well-developed planning skills including the ability to meet commitments and produce desired results
