  • Overview

    We are currently seeking Vendor Surveillance Inspectors with extensive oilfield or oil & gas inspection experience.  Viable candidates will have either a Mechanical/Piping/CWI or Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation background in the oilfield.  Selected candidates will support a major exploration and production company with operations in the U.S.  


    The Vendor Surveillance Inspector is responsible for providing excellent customer service that satisfies Bergaila's high standards and client requirements through the timely coordination of new and ongoing third party inspection requests. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with our full-time and contract Inspectors to ensure Bergaila is recognized as the industry leader and employer of choice.  The selected candidate is expected to facilitate safe, technically compliant site safety visits to fabrication facilities:


    - Perform complete analysis of inspection requirements as outlined in the client’s request.
    - Communicate with all involved parties effectively and in a timely manner.
    - Schedule all jobs in a timely manner, obtain field reports on time and submit reports to the customer within the report submittal timeframes.
    - Review of field reports as required by the coordination charter before submitting to the customer.
    - Analyze + control cost to be within the assignment budget and optimize revenue for each job/project/account. Review of inspector’s invoices to check reasonableness in the hours/mileage and expenses charged, and agreed rates.
    - Maintain high quality and efficiency in customer deliverables such as reports, time sheets, KPIs, invoices etc. 
    - Maintain updated data in all systems available for coordination/scheduling, monitoring work flow and financial reporting.
    - Process customer billing with accuracy in line with contract specified commercial terms and conditions.
    - Report KPIs as required and monthly accruals in a prescribed format.
    - Maintain and grow business relations with existing customers.
    - Continuous quality improvement and problem solving.
    - Collections as needed.
    - Issue rate confirmation / quotations to clients . Upon of receipt of client request, source inspector by analyzing client inspection requirements, inspector qualifications and location of inspectors. 
    - Analyze and act accordingly by following all internal & external inquiries.
    - Obtain, verify, and process all documents and data required for report issuance.
    - Review/approve inspector invoice – submit for payment
    - Develop work order/instructions to relay to the general contractor. Ensure correct and timely execution of assigned tasks to comply with all operational targets and deadlines.
    - Ensure that all transactions are carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
    - Assure all inspection requirements are fulfilled as requested on the client’s inspection order.
    - Review the inspector’s reports and screen/advise/resolve any discrepancies as required
     - Responsible for the accuracy of data in the final report and its proper and timely distribution.
    - Track costs to ensure client PO amount is not exceeded. Advise client in advance of the need for additional funds.
    - Maintain regular contact with clients, inspection site personnel and independent contract inspectors in a professional manner to ensure the highest level of service.
    - When required attend inspections in the field, inspection field audits, or customer meetings. 
    - Maintain a solid knowledge of current inspection practices and procedures.
    - When required, participate in group meetings and discussions. 
    - Ensure all documents/emails are stored correctly on internal servers
    - Other duties as assigned



    - 10+ years of hands- on shop fabrication inspection experience within an oil and gas equipment fabrication environment, with prior work in a Client/Owner's Rep capacity 

    - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal 
    - Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Web based tools

    - Organizational skills 
    - Good working knowledge of inspection methods, standards and procedures
    - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under moderate time pressure and work in a fast-paced environment

    - Ability to work with a diverse team
    - Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills
