We are currently seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst II for a contract opportunity in Houston, TX. Our client offers oilfield services and products worldwide, making it one of the largest oil field service companies, with operations in over 70 countries.
As a Software Asset Management Analyst II in our client's IT Finance & Administration department you will be involved in acquiring software licenses with associated maintenance and services, insuring license compliance through periodic audit, and processing annual maintenance renewals. You will report to the Software Asset Management Lead or to the Sr. IT Manager – Global Asset Management. This area is under the leadership of the Director – IT Finance and Administration.
Under general supervision a Software Asset Management Analyst II will be responsible for:
-Facilitating the business’s needs for software products with associated maintenance or services for selected products.
-Ensuring that all maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals are processed in advance of their expiration.
-Identifying savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services.
-Following through with vendors to obtain identified savings.
-Working with our client's Supply Chain organization to manage software licensing/ maintenance contracts to maximize value and manage compliance risk for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
-Interpreting complex licensing agreements and translating the terms and conditions for end users and key stakeholders to insure understanding of license metrics and compliance requirements.
-Insuring audit readiness through the effective license management and periodic license reconciliation of assigned software vendors.
-Collecting information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
-Maintaining accurate licensing information in HP Asset Manager to address budgeting and software compliance reporting.
-Communicating through email, individual interview, group meetings, and presentations to key stakeholders and vendors.
-Responding to requests from end users, and key stakeholders for specific IT Software Asset Management data information.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
-2+ years experience working in Software Asset Management
-Knowledge of Information Technology organizations and functions
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Proven ability to research complex topics
-Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools.
-Critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and encourage others in collaborative problem solving.
-Self-starter with the ability to work independently, with moderate supervision
-HP Asset Manager and Discovery Tools experience is preferred
-SAP transactional experience is preferred
-IAITAM CSAM certification is preferred
