We are currently seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for a Direct opportunity with a leading engineering and manufacturing company based in Houston, TX. With operations in over seven regions around the world, our client’s expertise encompasses field production facilities, compression and natural gas processing plants, CO processing plants, refrigeration systems and electric power equipment serving the natural gas production industry.



Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer include but are not limited to:


- Programming and testing PLC and HMI of different brands.

- Panel Design. Review customer specifications, design and review I&E wiring diagrams.
- PLC/HMI System Test. Performing Factory Acceptance Test in our systems with or without customer.
- Responsible of final documentation after FAT.
- Technical Support to different departments, specifically Applications, Sales and Service departments.

- Specifying and designing electrical systems, instrumentation and control requirements for oil and gas processing facilities

- Duties must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures



- 3-5 years of experience in design of various control systems with AB hardware; other brands is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience working with various electrical components including MCC’s, PLC Programming on AB, VFD’s, electrical switchgears and motors
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/ Instrumentation discipline or equivalent experience
- PLC Programming experience (Allen Bradley a plus). 

- Experience in AB, experience in GE, Schneider Group (Modicon and Telemechanique) and Siemens is a plus. Experience with Intellution and Wonderware is also a plus.
- HMI experience.  Client is using Wonderware.
- Participated in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Experience working on skid packages.
- Knowledge in NEC and IEC codes.
- Knowledge in the use of Computer-Aided Engineering Software
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application software.
- Field commissioning and startup experience is a plus.
- Knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
