  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Field Supervisor for a direct position with a leading midstream services firm in Watford City, ND. Our client owns, operates, acquires and develops midstream energy assets.


    Essential duties and responsibilities include: 


    - Knowing and understanding our clients Safety Policies and Procedures. Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner by utilizing the proper tools, safety and environmental precautions and permits, and detailed knowledge of the effect his/her work will have on their co-workers and the plant and field operations.
    - Overseeing the activities of operations to ensure safe work practices are followed, system operations are running efficiently, and the facilities are in compliance with all permits and regulations.
    - Overseeing budget expenditures, developing AFEs, and ensuring projects are completed timely, on budget, and according to proper standards.
    - Will serve if necessary as a back-up for the Maintenance and Operations Supervisors and act as within their delegation of authority in the absence of the Area Manager.
    - Direct and support Field Technicians with routine and major maintenance repairs of equipment such as, but not limited to, engines, compressors, fuel conditioners and glycol dehydrators.
    - Train and develop technicians.  Build and maintain with operations and field department
    - Ability to develop and implement maintenance program to achieve desired efficiencies.
    - Assist in training of new hires or other technicians in the areas of our clients safety procedures and policies, mechanical maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures and programs.

    - Required to take calls and respond to system issues.
    - Reading pipeline maps and have understanding of Blocks, Townships, & Ranges.
    - Assisting teams in developing Capital Projects and helping with implementation plans.
    - Ensuring a safe work environment for supervised staff by promoting safety and environmental programs.
    - Assisting in the development of new business deals and reviews proposed contracts.
    - Developing relationship with customers in the service area.
    - Assisting in implementing root cause failure analysis when necessary.
    - Overseeing all aspects of gas and liquid measurement including the measurement of product via pipeline and/or truck
    - Supervising maintenance department including responsibility for failure rates and department efficiencies.
    - Supervising field technician activities – Meter calibrations, Gas sampling, Line repair, & Data tracking.
    - Supervising maintenance technician activities – PM’s, Pd.M.’s, repair work, troubleshooting, and record keeping.
    - Supervising Gathering System operations and construction activities.
    - Assisting other departments in the system to schedule planned downtime and system efficiency.
    - Performing other duties as requested by management.


    - 1-3 years related work experience required

    - Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
    - Associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance technology from an accredited technical school (preferred)
    - Must have a mechanical aptitude
    - Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors
    - An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic
    - Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources
    - Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks
    - Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense
    - Intermediate computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    - Knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics, Engine & Compressor Operations and Maintenance, and Gas Measurement and gas dehydration.
    - Knowledge and Promotion of Safety and Environmental Programs
    - Has a good understanding of pipeline operations/systems.
    - Proficient in the functionality, operation, routine maintenance, trouble shooting, Root Cause Analysis and preventative maintenance of all equipment used in Gas Gathering and Compression.
    - Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and P&ID’s.
    - Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions
    - Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.
