  • Overview

    We are currently looking for a Welder for an established Berwick, LA- based manufacturing and engineering services company.  Our client is a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems and services for the oil, gas and process industries. 


    The Welder will be responsible for: 


    - Performing welding, cladding, grinding, gouging, flame cutting, material handling and other relevant fabrication activities in line with Engineering drawing, WPS and manufacturing orders without compromising on quality, health and safety.

    - Reading and understanding Engineering Drawing, WPS, Welding symbols and Work Orders

    - Performing welding or overlay work with appropriate material using both manual and/or automated process following documents

    - Performing repetitive noncode welding on designated materials, setting up and operating assigned welding equipment to work materials to moderate tolerances

    - Making simple set ups for repetitive welding operations, making minor adjustments to related positions and fixtures, as directed, to work materials

    - Operating assigned equipment, either manual or automatic, to perform simple and repetitive welding operations on designated materials, working to moderate tolerances

    - Performing simple fitting up, cutting and assembly of materials, as required, for welding

    - Making dimensional and visual checks of work

    - Performing other related duties including simple burning, operating grinder and buffer, maintaining work area in a clean and orderly condition

    - Actively supports, participates in, and maintains the integrity and ongoing function of the company and facility's safety program; ensuring a safe/healthy work environment


    - High School Diploma or GED

    - 2-3 years related experience

    - Ability to weld on Inconel 625 material

    - Proficient in both the GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) process and SMAW (Submerged Metal Arc Welding) process

    - Basic STICK welding skills and experience with oxygen/acetylene torches and hand grinding equipment

    - Familiarity with safe operation of power tools and large hand tools

    - Ability to operate pallet jacks, cranes, forklifts preferred

    - Read and understand English, Engineering drawings, and welding symbols

    - Ability to read and interpret blueprints
