We are currently seeking a Thermal Processing Operator II in Houston, TX. Our client is a leading worldwide provider of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations, oilfield services, and supply chain integration services to the upstream oil and gas industry.
Thermal Processing Operator II will be responsible for:
-Threads material through thermal processing components to initiate setup of the line.
-Makes adjustments on straightener and sizing section driven stand rolls and side pass rolls to properly straighten and size tubing.
-Operates control panel for thermal processing to initiate and complete tubing strings.
-Performs dimensional and visual inspection of samples provided for beginning and end of strings.
-Coordinates the collection and evaluation of tubing samples to confirm metallurgical characteristics and mechanical properties.
-Sets and monitors temperatures for equipment in-line as per instructions provided by established heat history.
-Responsible for efficient product changes of the line, including coordinating the efforts of the team members.
-Other duties that may be assigned
-Comply with all applicable HSE requirements as specified in Quality Tubing's HSE Operational Requirement for Roles and Responsibilities
-5+ years experience in quench and temper processing preferred
-Overhead Crane certification, preferred
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
-Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
