  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst - Midstream for a prominent E&P based company in Houston, TX. A global Operator, our client specializes in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas.

    Responsibilities

    The Financial Analyst - Midstream will be responsible for:

     

    - Recording monthly journal entries in Hyperion consolidation and reporting system for the midstream entities.

    - Assisting with preparing monthly reporting package consisting of HIP financial statements, supporting schedules and variance analyses, which is reviewed by the Midstream Finance team on work day 8 and submitted to GIP, our joint venture partner.

    - Coordinating the Monthly Midstream Financial Review meeting that takes place on work day 8, including gathering various schedules and creating a combined report that is then distributed to meeting attendees in advance of the meeting.

    - Assisting with preparation and issuance of HIP annual financial statements that are distributed to GIP and bondholders.

    - Researching footnote and Management Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) disclosure requirements; raise issues as necessary.

    - Completing annual GAAP checklist to ensure financial statement disclosure requirements are met.

    - Preparing workpapers (tie-out binders) to support monthly and annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures and MD&A.

    - Interacting with external auditors on accounting and reporting matters for annual audit work and provide with requested information.

    - Maintaining Finance SharePoint site to include audit support, joint venture and MLP documents. Ensure document retention by scanning and uploading all workpapers to the SharePoint site.

    - Assisting with preparation of quarterly debt covenant compliance package in accordance with the MLP and HIP credit facility requirements, which includes covenant calculations, guarantor/non-guarantor financial statements and other supporting schedules.

    - Preparing and submitting monthly EBITDA report for the Treasury department.

    - Maintaining monthly operating rhythm calendar (checklist) and ensure timely completion of monthly and annual tasks.

    - Assisting with special projects as necessary.

    - Assisting with the MLP SEC filings as necessary.

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business Administration field 

    - CPA or Chartered Accountant is preferred.

    - Minimum 5 years in Accounting

    - Financial reporting experience (external or management/internal reporting)

    - Oil and gas industry experience (E&P or midstream) is required.

    - Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential

    - Financial systems experience using Hyperion and SAP is required.

    - Excellent business English and report writing skills

    - Variance analysis and commentary skills

    - Ability to work under tight deadlines

    - Ability to work independently

    - Task oriented, team player with effective communication skills
