  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Recruiting Coordinator with Corporate Recruiting and/or high volume corporate Talent Acquisition experience to work with a prominent Engineering firm in West Houston. Our client specializes in all aspects of automation and information systems related to the production, transmission and processing of oil and gas products.

    Responsibilities

    The Recruiting Coordinator will be responsible for: 

     

    - Coordinating and implementing recruiting initiatives

    - Developing and executing recruiting plans

    • Work with hiring managers on recruiting planning meetings.
    • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
    • conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
    • research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
    • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
    • Post openings in newspaper advertisements, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
    • Draft and distribute external posting content.
      • Research new ways of using the internet for recruitment.
      • Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.

    - Coordinating and Implementing College Recruiting Initiatives.

    • Attend career fairs for recruiting and company recognition.
    • Set-up on campus interviews
    • Develop working relationships within colleges to aid in recruiting.
    • Give presentations at colleges, attend student group meetings, and increase college awareness of the company before and after career fairs.

    - Creating job descriptions and post openings via the company’s external and internal website, internet, newspaper advertisements, with professional organizations, social and professional media, and in other position appropriate venue.

    - Identifying and participating in job fairs and other recruitment events that could provide quality candidates for open positions

    - Maintaining recruiting files in accordance with the clients requirements and HR best practices

    - Reviewing applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.

    - Conducting prescreening interviews.

    - Coordinating the preparation and use of assessment tools.

    - Auditing recruitment folders on a regular basis to ensure completion of postings, job descriptions, etc.

    - Maintaining all pertinent applicant and interview data; prepare interview debrief summaries.

    - Assisting in performing reference checks for potential employees.

    - Assisting in writing and forwarding rejection letters.

    - Coordinating interview schedules for all participants

    - Assisting in interviewing and selecting candidates.

    - Performing a wide range of human resources tasks and projects in such functional areas as recruitment and staffing logistic, benefits administration, employee relations, writing employee communication pieces, HRIS, and planning employee events.

    - Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations for aspects of employment, recruitment and employee relations resolution.

    - Providing support to employees and managers

    - Reporting to Manager of Human Resources

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Organizational Development. Liberal Arts degree and related experience also acceptable.

    - 2-3 years of corporate Oil and Gas recruiting experience is preferred.  Other experience may be considered.

    - Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office (Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint), and internet recruiting/application tracking and social networking tools.

    - Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

    - Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    - Highly skilled in time management and interpersonal capabilities.

    - Ability to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

    - Works well in a fast-paced Human Resources team environment; ability to multi-task.

    - Solid working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compliance and training.

    - Maintains appropriate discretion when working with confidential information.
