  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Project Controls Lead to work with one of North America's largest refinery/petrochemical company.  This position is a long-term contract oppotunity and will be based out of our client's Houston, TX office.  


    The Project Controls Lead is responsible for:


    - Review all commercial activities of a project, or operation, and the facilitation of such activity to ensure compliance is achieved.

    - Supports the development of the Project Controls execution Plan for the project and leads the Project Setup process in the Cost Control System.

    - Responsible for Cost Forecast (LOP) and schedule in the project.

    - Interacts with Engineering and PMT teams to make sure all changes are captured and processed.

    - Participates in Change order negotiations with Clients and estimates change order scenarios.

    - Supports internal and external audits, and project quality activities.

    - Support contract manager with the interpretation of T&Cs.

    - Guarantees the proper execution of Project Close-out.




    - At least 10 years of experience in a petrochemical refinery or upgrader EPC environment (preferably brown field).

    - College or University Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred…also PMP, P.Eng, PSP, a plus


    - +7 progressive experience in project controls, planning, cost or engineering, project/product planning

    - Proven experience in Risk management, and risk management processes


    - Primavera (P6) is required, MS Office pkg. (PowerPoint, word, excel, MS Project)

    - Skilled in multi-disciplined full project planning and scheduling from conception through commissioning

    - Strong team player, communicator and presenter

    - Constructability and problem solving

    - EPC interface awareness

    - Familiarity in Plant project environments, both in office and on site

    - In-depth experience with AWP (advanced work packaging) workface planning techniques

    - Ability to take and provide managerial direction well to meet the Project’s goals
