  • Overview

    We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to work on-site at our clients refinery in Martinez, California. The selected candidate will primarily perform as a Lead Engineer on an industrial facility electrical infrastructure upgrade project, involving life cycle evaluation and upgrade of facility power generation and distribution equipment.

     

    Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

     

    ** At bare minimum, this position requires a valid RSO Certification, TWIC  Card and a P.E. License **

    ** A P.E. is mandatory, but doesn't have to be from California. A License from any of the 50 states is acceptable **

    Responsibilities

    - Performs as Lead Engineer on an industrial facility electrical infrastructure upgrade project, involving life cycle evaluation and upgrade of facility power generation and distribution equipment

    - Develops and maintains man-hour budgets, manpower requirements and project schedules

    - Develops a full understanding of the project scope and procedures

    - Supervises the Electrical engineering and design personnel assigned to his/her project as needed

    - Assigns work to Electrical personnel, ensuring the best utilization of their knowledge and capabilities

    - Monitors the engineering and design efforts on his project to assure compliance with Client and industry standards

    - Assists the Section and Department Managers in performance evaluation of Electrical personnel under his/her supervision

    - Establishes drawing requirements, project procedures and controls, stressing continuity within all disciplines

    - Develops the Design Basis document and Construction Work Package

    - Forecasts manpower requirements to maintain the job schedule

    - Continues development of his/her personal knowledge, skills and potential, both technical and supervisory            

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Engineering is required

    - Minimum 10 years of experience designing refineries, power plants, or heavy industrial facilities is required

    - Current knowledge of EPC work processes as well as familiarity with the various project phases and the scope/deliverables is required

    - Working knowledge of the application, specification and installation of power generation and LV & MV (up to 35kV) power distribution equipment is required

    - Experience in various phases of vendor selection and technical evaluation is required

    - Experience in electrical installation requirements is required

    - Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is required

    - P.E. License is required

    - TWIC Card is required

    - RSO Certification is required   

    - Familiar with AutoCAD and/or Microstation design tools

    - Working knowledge in power system analysis tools (ETAP and/or SKM)
