  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Metrology Lab Technician in Houston, TX. Our client is a leading worldwide provider of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations, oilfield services, and supply chain integration services to the upstream oil and gas industry.  


    The Metrology Lab Technician will be responsible for:


    -Perform inspection of purchased parts in warehouse and at supplier facilities. Prepare and maintain quality records related to inspections. Maintain and control inspection and measuring equipment and calibration files.

    -Perform receiving inspection of equipment/parts.
    -Perform inspection of equipment/parts in house and at supplier facilities when applicable.
    -Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
    -Review inspection records received from suppliers for compliance.
    -Maintain inspection and measuring equipment; perform or arrange for calibration of equipment; and maintain equipment calibration records.
    -Prepare and coordinate Rejected Material Reports (RMR) for nonconforming parts.
    -Summarize inspection results and equipment / supplier quality performance.
    -Strive for continuous improvement in facility safety and quality.
    -Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
    -Maintaining orderly control of company-owned tools and gauges in order to provide a timely supply of calibrated
    measuring equipment to various departments, work groups, and other facilities
    -Maintaining calibration records on all measuring and testing equipment and ensuring that this equipment is calibrated to meet requirements
    -Coordinating and tracking the loan and use of calibrated company equipment and for coordinating the calibration of
    employee-owned tools as required
    -Review and apply the calibration procedures and documentation requirements necessary to ensure compliance
    -Assist in troubleshooting of measuring instruments as necessary and conducting training on calibration of associated
    -Works in the Metrology Lab environment setting on computer 90% of the day, 10% shipping processes
    -Limited travel




    -Minimum of 1-year experience in calibration and control of measuring gauges.

    -Able to pass the Color and Acuity eye test
