  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a long- term contract opportunity with a prominent exploration and production company with operations based in the Kermit, TX.


    The Financial Analyst will be responsible for: 


    - Identifying, setting-up and maintaining accurate cost and allocations

    - Maintaining an accurate system for tracking water costs from production through disposal or recycle

    - Participating in well reviews and provide P&L analytical support at the well, pumper, foreman and field levels

    - Analyzing facility capital costs and allocate to wells

    - Analyzing LOE well cost, identify miscoded expenses, and reclassify as needed.

    - Reviewing coding and train team on coding improvements

    - Identifying and helping coordinate various accounting efforts impacting local field operations

    - Performing financial analysis, research, and reporting

    - Responding to partner and audit inquiries

    - Reviewing and Auditing vendor records for discrepancies in billing

    - Understanding fundamentals and principles of own discipline function.

    - Performing assignments with occasional guidance from more experienced staff.

    - Completing assignments set by management within business unit.

    - Understanding and applying all company environmental, health and safety policies and principles.

    - Implementing value and quality in work assignments.

    - Providing financial support through accurate data entries using SAP financial software and general account structure

    - Following all company procedures and established guidelines

    - Maintaining compliance with proper regulatory and guidelines SOX, COPAS etc.

    - Developing working knowledge of organization functions, roles and responsibilities.

    - Analyzing business drivers, performance measures, and financial indicators

    - Actively seeks guidance, as necessary, from more experienced staff.

    - Analyzing and solving problems identified by others



    - Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting 

    - Minimum 1 year experience in finance and/ or accounting, 3 years preferred

    - Strong analytical, computer (MS Office suite), and communication skills

    - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships

    - Displays professional and mature business intelligence and the ability to lead by example

    - Ability to perform in both an office or field environment

    - Experience with SAP and the Oil & Gas industry preferred

    - Excellent written and communication skills

    - Ability to handle confidential and proprietary company data and information
