  • Overview

    We are currently seeking an experienced Project Scheduler for a contract opportunity for an independent refiner based out of Pasadena, TX. 


    The  Scheduler will be responsible for:


    - Indirectly oversees and leads team of project schedulers.

    - Leads optimization reviews to ensure schedule durations are appropriately minimized and cost efficient.

    - Provides guidance, direction and assistance with troubleshooting. 

    - Communicates project schedule problem areas, critical paths, and accomplishments to management.

    - Advises on use of effective, comprehensive, optimized schedules for purposes of improving project performance.

    - Reviews and coordinates schedule interfaces with vendors and contractors consisting of, but not limited to: resource loading, schedule content, critical path, relationships and logic ties, constraints, milestones.     

    - Administers established work processes.

    - Reviews and approves work packages for compliance with corporate and project standards. 

    - Conducts quality assurance reviews on duration estimates, logic ties, critical paths, and work breakdown structures to ensure accuracy of performance measures. 

    - Interfaces with multiple project participants and stakeholders to identify and resolve scheduling issues.  

    - Reports productivity key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to Owner PM team, including integrated S-curve progress data and productivity factored forecast data. 

    - Performs complex schedule analyses based on various scenarios.  

    - Conducts schedule diagnostics. 

    - Recommends actions to address areas of concern.  

    - Provides mentorship to participating contractor planners and schedulers to improve scheduling quality, efficiency and effectiveness.  


    - Minimum high school diploma or GED required.

    - Undergraduate degree preferred.

    - Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics/refinery project planning and scheduling and/or significant roles in the execution of logistics/refinery work required.

    - Experience with Primavera P6 software required. 

    - Supervisory experience in major logistics/refining capital projects preferred
