We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for assignment in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants, and related facilities equipment, on an assigned shift.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
** A valid Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) and/or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) Certification is highly preferred **
** This position has an on-call schedule **
- Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and technical illustrations
- Performs skilled repair work, on wastewater treatment plant equipment and instruments
- Inspects, repairs and maintains electrical and/or electro-mechanical operating and control systems, equipment and fixtures
- Inspects, maintains and repairs wiring and lighting systems, electrical control equipment, meters, outlets, and panels
- Installs new equipment, interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, wiring diagrams, and codes
- Establishes and maintains scheduled electrical maintenance program for the plant's equipment
- May repair electrical and electronic instruments
- Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrences
- Accountable for maintenance related record keeping and prepares routine and special reports
- Ensures work orders and other data is correctly tracked and managed using appropriate computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Keeps electrical maintenance records, prepares labor and material estimates
- Understands the mathematics of electricity and machines
- Under the direction of the Team Lead, provides on-the-job training to less experienced employees
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical machinery or equipment
- Lubricates equipment and checks for malfunctions
- Replaces bearings, packing, seals, shafts, sleeves, seats, or other components found in treatment plant equipment
- This position requires employee to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies
- Travel between work locations is required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Driver’s License
- 4+ years experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Electrically Qualified as defined by OSHA is highly preferred
- A valid Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) and/or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) Certification is highly preferred
