We have an opening for an Accountant to work in the Houston, TX area.  Seeking an Accountant for our client's Accounting and Controls team. Key focus will be on Accounts Payable, Expense process management, accounting close and monthly reconciliations.

 - Entering invoices for approval processing

 - Entering invoices into system

 - Organizing outgoing payments of invoices timely

 - Monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date

 - Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues

 - Managing company expense process

 - Completing monthly and quarterly accounting close

 - Completing bank and monthly reconciliations

 - Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations

 - Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.

 - Performing audits and resolving discrepancies

 - Computing taxes

 - Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting



 - Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience

 - Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes

 - Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills

 - Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and social skills

 - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

 - Ethical behavior

 - Attention to detail



 - Certified Public Accountant

 - Self-motivated and innovative thinker

 - Team oriented

 - Excellent written and presentation communication skills

 - Ability to meet deadlines and commitments, and works well under pressure

 - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
