We have an opening for an Electrical Designer to work in the Carrollton, KY area.



Our client’s portfolio of specialty chemicals, advanced materials and plastics delivers a broad range of technology- based products and solutions to high- growth sectors, including energy, water, coatings, electronics, oil and gas.


 - Work from defined notes, rough sketches or schematics to develop engineering concepts into visual designs.

 - Specifies dimensions and other data for layout or detailing.

 - Develop and layout of original drawings.

 - Make revisions and adjustments to design as directed by discipline engineer(s) and senior designers.

 - Work is closely supervised by the senior designers and discipline engineer(s)

 - Develop appropriate professional work habits and behaviors to meet project scope requirements and schedule milestones.

 - Collect field data and take field measurements under the direction of senior designers and discipline engineer(s)

 - Responsible for drawing layout and presentation, bid and construction package preparation

 - Expected to interface with other engineering disciplines on multidiscipline project teams.

 - Some decision-making is required.

 - Attends team check to obtain feedback.

 -  Attends P&ID reviews for learning.

 - Communicate to discipline engineer(s) the status/progress of projects/assignments.


 - Strong Electrical Design knowledge.

 - Previous experience as an Electrical or Instrument designer OR Industrial Electrician background.

 - Ability to interact with construction contractors.

 - Demonstrates an understanding of N.E.C., ability to learn Dow Most Effective Technology (EMETL), Client Practices and Pipe Specs. Knows where to find information and applies with some direction from senior designers or discipline engineer(s).

 - General awareness of proper Instrument/Electrical installation.

 - Demonstrates ability to read P&ID's and transfer information into Instrument and Electrical design.

 - Demonstrates ability to gather and transfer information from field investigations into to electrical and/or instrument design.

 - Demonstrates knowledge of or ability to learn Instrument Schedule/Program suite.

 - Ability to learn INTOOLS methodology & functionality.

 - Demonstrates ability to check connectivity of Instrumentation vs. P&ID vs. pipe specs (in-line, remote, auxiliary electronics. Flanged/NPT)

 - Demonstrates or can learn to specify electrical components

 - TWIC Card Required
