Overview

We have an opening for a Shop Mechanic to work in the Midland, TX area.

 

 

Our Client provides temporary electric power solutions to the oil, gas and mining industries with a mind toward reducing electric power costs, improving the uptime of critical equipment and ultimately decarbonizing customer operations.  Their top priority is to deliver exceptional customer experiences through best-in-class service and support throughout the life of the project.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Shop Mechanic will include but are not limited to the following duties:

 

 - Repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and be responsible for run time, mechanical, and electrical systems of generators

 - Preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas and diesel generators (5.7L to 9L in engine size). Basic maintenance items include:

        * Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filters, overhead valve adjustments, checking batteries, washing of radiators

        * Load bank testing

 

 - Repair and maintenance of the following engine and electrical system components:

        * Engine fuel systems

        * Cooling systems

        * Air injection systems (turbos, manifolds)

        * Generator control panel troubleshooting

        * Generator ends: diagnose 480V electrical output, check diodes, replace/tune automatic voltage regulators

 

 - Work directly with leadership to improve company-wide processes in regards to training, safety, and maintenance standards

 - Assist in the development and oversight of Generator Technician training throughout the company. This may include conducting training in the Monahans shop with assigned Client Technicians

 - Stay reasonably informed of industry-wide safety practices, mechanic’s education, and develop or maintain any skill needed to properly perform the requirements of your services

Qualifications

 - Can effectively follow and timely execute on maintenance and repair work orders issued by management

 - Can demonstrate exceptional technical skill with mechanical and electrical systems on generators with high attention to detail and follow through until completion

 - Can demonstrate exceptional communication to team members that is both respectful, clear, and frequent. High attention and focus on written communication

 - Can effectively use and encourage use of company ERP system to capture all operational work flows, in order to tie back to company accounting

 - Maintains excellent physical appearance of company generators, yard, and trucks at all times

 - Demonstrates a strong awareness of safety in your day to day activities

 - Be a self-starter and bring a flexible attitude to work in order to hit key operational objectives
