Overview

We have an opening for an IT Director position to work in the Dallas, TX area.

Responsibilities

The IT Business Partnering team sits within the Group Technology department.

 

The role of the IT Director is to act as a strategic interface between the business and Group IT.  The IT Director is a champion for IT within the business and a champion for the business within IT ensuring that Group IT has the capabilities and resources to support the business needs.

 

Communications and relationships

 - Build relationships with key stakeholders

 - Regularly attend appropriate business meetings and forums to represent IT

 - Represent the business on internal IT

 - Own the relationship between the business and IT and act as an ambassador for IT

 - Provide monthly KPI reports to business on IT service and project statuses

 - Understand the Business Unit / Enabling Function

 - Be familiar with the Business Strategy / Enabling Function and key objectives

 - Identify how the Business Strategy / Enabling Function operates including key business processes

 - Identify the key challenges and issues

 - Understand the business requirements and identify how IT can support these

 

Demand management

 - Identify current and future demand for IT improvements

 - Work with the business and the IT functions to create business cases for new improvements

 - Ensure IT project pipeline accurately reflects the priorities and needs of the business

 - Support the business through any change management activity

 - Flexibility to travel within the US and internationally Service assurance

 - Ensure that IT services are meeting the needs of the business

 - Obtain feedback on IT services from the business unit and alongside the IT team agree any improvement actions required

 - Assist in managing the relationship with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that the business is receiving the best possible service and pricing for services obtained (i,e. locally purchased items)

 - Assist in managing the relationship with IT service Support team to ensure that the business requirements are met, i.e. ensure the enough hardware in place to support the business growth and the inventory is maintained

 - Managing the regional IT contracts aligned with Global IT policy and standards

 - Have regular meetings with the office/brand/departmental head to identify IT challenges and feedback

 

Innovation

 - Champion the innovation process

 - Identify opportunities for business improvement

 - Help to spread innovation throughout the business by sharing innovative ideas between business units

 - Stay informed of innovations within the construction industry particularly where this relates to technology and software

 

Business change management

 - Work as project manager for regional IT projects/ rollouts on the businesses' readiness to change, on achieving the outcomes and realizing the benefits

 

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

 - Stakeholder and Relationship Management 

 - Excellent presentation and communication skills

 - Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner

 - Ability to effectively communicate business needs to IT

 - Ability to effectively quantify and translate technical solutions, from business “problems”

 - Attention to detail and excellent analytic skills

 - Well organized and able to work on own initiative

 - Good interpersonal skills, able to influence and engender collaboration

 - Minimum three years’ experience in working with Microsoft Cloud technologies (office 365, Dynamics 365)

 

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s in business management, management information System orequal experience

 - Knowledge of ITIL, Prince2 and Agile methodology and working practices preferable but not essential

 - Business Relationship Management qualification desirable
