We are seeking a Lab Analyst for assignment in Westerly, Rhode Island. The selected candidate will assist in the collection and analysis of chemical and microbiological samples of wastewater influent and effluent, sludge, marine waters and other process analysis.


Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm


** A recent graduate with a degree in Chemistry or Biology is highly preferred **


- Performing a variety of chemical, biochemical, and bacteriological tests

- Manage all aspects of the Westerly WWTP laboratory

- Performing routine and non-routine process and permit sampling

- Ensuring all laboratory requirements of the facility's NPDES permit are being met

- Reporting to the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager on process sampling trends and results

- Maintaining all laboratory records

- Developing and submitting regulatory reports

- Maintain a comprehensive quality assurance program based on the established guidelines

- Operating a variety of laboratory equipment including pH meters, balances, furnaces, autoclaves, incubators, and calculators

- Assisting with performing pilot study activities,

- Maintain, clean and care for laboratory equipment and material.

- Oversee the facility's Industrial Pretreatment Program.

- Operating and maintaining the Towns program which includes routine monitoring and inspections of the Town's permitted industrial users; preparing and submitting the Annual Pretreatment Report to the State; review of new industries and evaluation for addition to the pretreatment program; instituting enforcement as needed; and all other duties involved with maintaining the facility's Industrial Pretreatment Program


- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- Completion of at least 12 semester units in chemistry or biology

- 1 year of laboratory testing and analysis experience
