We are seeking a either a Water / Wastewater Operator for a contract-to-direct assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

** This position has an on-call schedule, which may include weekends and holidays **

** This position requires a New Mexico Operator or Operator-in-Training Certification **

- Operates, performs minor repairs, and maintain the wastewater treatment plant facility, and diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action

- Operates pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent

- Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels

- Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine process or flow adjustment requirements

- Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control

- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings as required

- Takes samples and performs laboratory tests and analyses

- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties

- Collect meter readings

- Perform line locates, replace and repair water meters

- Ability to respond to call-ins in a timely manner (45 minutes)

- Ability to work weekends and holidays

- Performs other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- 2+ years’ experience in operating water and/or wastewater treatment plants

- A valid New Mexico Operator or Operator-in-Training Certification
