We have an opening for an EPC Project Controls Specialist to work in the Houston, TX area.

Responsibilities

Responsible for creating, progressing, updating, and troubleshooting project schedules, in Primavera 6 (P6), throughout the project life cycle. The project controls specialist will provide feedback to the project team to provide attainable project completion dates.

 

 - Interact with key members of the project team and client organization to develop overall project schedules.

 - Develop EPC schedules using P6 software in an enterprise environment in collaboration with procurement, construction, and client representatives. Baseline projects to schedule and parameters and metrics.

 - Create WBS, Activity Coding, User-Defined Fields, and fully utilize other technical aspects of P6 software to develop detailed EPC schedules using full CPM techniques and resource loading.

 - Must have ability to understand and analyze durations and logic of all phases of the EPC project to ensure credibility of the schedule and to clearly convey critical and near-critical paths.

 - Provide scenario “what if” planning and quantitative risk analysis of schedule.

 - Provide leadership in interactive planning sessions and host/attend schedule review meetings with project management, clients and other stakeholders.

 - Set up, prepare and maintain weekly/monthly project and program reports including quantitative progress and analysis, schedule performance, cost forecasting, cash flow forecasting.

 - Possess ability to direct and lead others, clearly convey information, actively communicate and work in a collaborative environment.

 - Possess excellent communication and presentation skills

 - Attend required and refresher training related to company and regulatory compliance

 - Clerical/administrative duties related to task or project documentation

 - Attend safety training as directed

 - Must comply with all safety and company rules and regulations

 - Employee must be able to travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other public form of transportation

Qualifications

 - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Construction; MBA or MSc or equivalent training in Project Management and/or Project Planning area is a plus.

 - 8+ years of experience as a Project Planner.

 - Previous experience in renewable projects strongly desirable.

 - Progress S-Curve and resource analysis knowledge.

 - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera P6 software

 - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

 - Ability to work in a matrix environment

 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 - Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.

 

This person will have an understanding of complex projects and how they work, intermediate level of scheduling knowledge, and is able to interact productively with key members of a project team with a variety of backgrounds.
