We have an opening for a Jr. Planner to work in the Houston, TX area.



Our Client is a global leader in the full service treatment and removal in caustic substances, as well as providing process technology, engineering and equipment to the oil and gas industry.  When it comes to the beneficial reuse and recycling of spent caustics, our client leads the way, turning would-be waste into viable and valuable commodities.


Ensure projects are planned accurately and delivered on schedule.  Assist in the development of the initial overall schedules with the support of the Project Team.  Oversee the maintenance of all project plans, schedule performance, analysis and preparation of look-ahead punch lists and plans.  Mentor other planners.  Develop and maintain project templates for all project and technology types.



 - Coordinate the creation, approval, and management of all project plans to include all project and technology types including but not limited to Process Engineering Packages, FFC Replacements Orders, Hardware Orders and Modules utilizing approved planning software. Must be capable of expediting resources to obtain information to allow the timely issue of all schedules and updates.

 - Coordinate the creation and maintenance of all planning templates for all project and technology types.

 - Distribute appropriate reports from MS Project and custom reports to Resource Managers, and Project Teams as required. These reports include but are not limited to:

          - Resource Task Reports

          - Two-week look ahead reports

          - Master Schedule Simulation Report

          - Buffer Usage Report

          - Fever Charts

          - Project Report

          - Top 5 Critical Tasks Report

          - Resource Load Graph


 - Coordinate and attend other discipline meetings to ensure projects are on schedule and contract deliverable requirements are accurately tracked and communicated to the Project Teams and Resource Managers.

 - Participate in assigned project meetings including sales and proposal kickoff meetings to ensure the required inputs for Planning process is captured.

 - Lead weekly project update meetings to review the individual project schedule progress with the Project Managers and Resource Managers, update the schedules resulting for the overall review and communicate status of projects to Project Managers, Resource Managers and Management.

 - Maintains change management process and ensures Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB and the baseline schedule) is up-to-date and all approved external and internal changes are incorporated according to the Change Management procedure.

 - Manages the collection of actual data, updates to the project schedule, and supports reliable schedule forecasts from the project team. Manages the contributions to company statistical analysis of production rates and other scheduling tools.

 - Maintain accurate and up-to-date Master Project Schedule.

 - Develop client schedules to be included with proposals.

 - Manage and develop “What if” scenarios.

 - Monitors the status of programs/projects as related to project status ensuring that baseline schedule milestones are achieved. Identifies slippages along with the reasons and communicates them effectively to the Project Manager and as needed to Senior Management. Continuously develops scenario analysis and recovery plans in case of slippage to meet the target completion date. The Lead Planner is a direct party to the execution of recovery action plans.

 - Reviews contract specifications, works with PM to identify risks or gaps in the Project Plan and supports the PM in the development and implementation of any required Risk Management Plans.

 - Active member in a cross-functional team, internal and external to Engineering, Fabrication and Operations; resolving issues; establishing and communicating project/program schedules, objective priorities, and targets.

 - Continuously improve our commitment to excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security performance.

 - Other duties as assigned by management.



 - 1-5 years of experience in Project Controls including Scheduling using MS Project, Primavera or other scheduling tool required

 - Experience and understanding planning for engineering, procurement and fabrication / construction. Must have ability to plan and sequence work effectively and have an understanding of the oil & gas business.

 - Experience summarizing results, producing management reports

 - Strong verbal and written communications skill

 - Proficiency with MS Office Suite of software required.

 - Must have a current, valid driver's license.

 - Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy.

 - Domestic USA and International Travel may be required.
