Overview

We have an opening for an Environmental/Regulatory Advisor to work in the Midland, TX area.

 

 

Our Client is an American energy company operating principally in the U.S. and Canada, that specializes in the drilling and production of unconventional oil and natural gas assets.  Our client has a reputation for efficient resource development, environmental stewardship and community involvement, with a drive to meet the growing challenges of the domestic natural gas industry.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Coordinators are subject matter experts in rules and regulations related to well permitting requirements throughout the life cycle of oil and gas wells, including injection and disposal.

 

 - Work directly with internal and external customers, technical and operations teams, to provide guidance and counsel on maintain license to operate.

 - Work with regulators from various local, state and federal agencies in Texas and New Mexico.

 - Provide critical support for the ongoing business activities in the Permian Basin, while ensuring all applicable rules and regulations are adhered to.

 - Well permitting and regulatory support for Texas and New Mexico oil and gas operations, including permit acquisition from the: RRC, NMOCD, BLM, and GLO.

 - Manage various statewide programs to maintain compliance with Texas and/or New Mexico regulations.

 - Work directly with the RRC, NMOCD, BLM and GLO to resolve issues with applications and well compliance.

 - Train internal and external customers as needed to ensure knowledge of regulatory requirements.

 - Counsel internal customers, including: development, drilling, completions, production, operations, facilities, global projects, and others on regulatory requirements needed to drill, complete, produce, rework, plug, commingle, and acquire land use authorization approvals.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field

- 3+ years of environmental and/or regulatory field experience 

- Demonstrated experience in well permitting and regulatory support for Texas and New Mexico oil and gas operations, including permit acquisition from the: RRC, NMOCD, BLM, and GLO

- Prior experience managing various statewide programs to maintain compliance with Texas and/or New Mexico regulations.

- Strong working knowledge of environmental sciences, engineering systems, principles and methodologies; strong working knowledge of national environmental laws and regulations, regulatory and resource agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for environmental compliance and best management practices for minimizing potential environmental impacts during project execution; strong working knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures and execution

- Prior experience managing and/or providing technical oversight for environmental contractors; prior experience in environmental monitoring and compliance inspection during construction stages 

- Strong understanding of hazardous materials and waste management, erosion and sediment control methods and restoration techniques
