Overview

We are currently seeking a Facilities Engineer II with extensive experience to work in the Carlsbad, NM area.

 

 

Our Client is an American energy company operating principally in the U.S. and Canada, that specializes in the drilling and production of unconventional oil and natural gas assets.  Our client has a reputation for efficient resource development, environmental stewardship and community involvement, with a drive to meet the growing challenges of the domestic natural gas industry.

Responsibilities

 - Facilities engineer for SWDs

            - Collaborate with Operations in each area to resolve facilities issues, provide day to day operations support

            - Recommend engineering solutions for reliability issues, facility troubleshooting and creative problem solving

 - Oversee design and construction of water transfer lines from batteries, SWDs, disposal water pipelines, booster stations and any other disposal water infrastructure

 - Support Project Teams and Operations in the commissioning and start-up of new/modified facilities

 - Develop scope of the work, preliminary design (support detailed design), cost estimating, equipment selection, procurement, and construction cost control for small scale projects

 - Support efforts to ensure modifications, designs, and construction standards are fully understood for any project and effectively run through the corporate management of change (MOC) process

 - Support operations and monitor each area for disposal capacity, balancing facilities output and recycle potential with storage

 - Support water lead in maintaining external contacts at offset operators to generate and take advantage of water sharing opportunities

 

Qualifications

 - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience

 - Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria

 - Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities

 - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs

 - Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications

 - Fundamental understanding of process safety management and equipment with pressurized fluids

 - Knowledge of technical standards (ASME, API, ANSI etc)

 - High influence effectiveness of mixed teams with limited or no formal authority

 - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams/ individuals in the organization

 - Able to self-perform design, procurement, and technical evaluation / troubleshooting for water and SWD systems

 - Planning and coordinating multiple projects in parallel with minor oversight required

 - Courage of conviction - Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
